Our extended team care deeply about environment and are committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
Sustainability is integral to our process & we are proud of our commitment to environmentally friendly manufacturing.
As part of this process, we have engaged with The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) which helps set green targets & achieve goals to minimise our carbon footprint & track our progress through a series of KPI’s.
We have also produced a Business Sustainability policy & implemented an Environmental Policy, prioritising the protection of the environment & work to eliminate harmful impacts.
One example of policies & procedures that were updated as a result of this was:
Our team continually challenge the old ways of doing business and suggests solutions to minimise packaging, improve recyclability & extend life-cycle.
A further example of our success within the field of sustainability is that we are on track for a 20% reduction in packaging this year which we are extremely proud to report.
At the end of the product’s life, we work with customers to ensure the products are recycled to one of our sustainability partners who will ensure they can be re-purposed.
One example is our Upparel partnership with Fashion Biz where they recycle end-of-life uniforms in a way that benefits the user & the planet.
We have a range of NZ charities that we partner with & make regular donations to including:
Like most important tasks we undertake, our commitment to sustainability is a constant work in progress and something we will be working on for many years to come.
We welcome our customers to join us on this journey & encourage them to make their own commitments to this worthy cause.
Corporate sustainability has become a buzzword in companies big and small. Sustainability is most often defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. It has three main pillars: economic, environmental, and social. These three pillars are informally referred to as people, planet and profits.
We know that having a beneficial impact on the planet can also have a positive financial impact. Lessening the amount of material used in packaging usually reduces the overall spending on those materials.
A sustainable business should have the support and approval of its employees, stakeholders and the community it operates in. It comes down to treating employees fairly and being a good neighbour and community member, both locally and globally.
Activities that fit under the economic pillar include compliance, proper governance and risk management. This means our boards of directors and management align with shareholders' interests as well as that of our community, value chains, and end-user customers.
